Captivating the Senses of the World: Successfully Concluded Buyeo National Heritage cultural heritage night event

Buyeo-gun successfully concluded the ‘2026 Buyeo National Heritage cultural heritage night event’ (hereinafter referred to as Buyeo cultural heritage night event). The ‘Buyeo cultural heritage night event’ is a night-specialized cultural experiential program where visitors can experience Baekje’s national heritage with all five senses amidst the serene ambiance of the night. From April 17 to 19, Buyeo-gun presented an enchanting night of culture by illuminating various cultural facilities and contents with mysterious light, using the area around Jeongnimsa Temple Site as its stage.
This year’s Buyeo cultural heritage night event featured diverse night culture event centered around eight night-themed programs, with ‘Baekje Mokgan (Secrets Carved in Wood)’ as its main theme. Participants from all over the country enjoyed Buyeo’s night by partaking in a total of 56 programs, including performances, experiential activity, and exhibitions, against the backdrop of the Five-story Stone Pagoda of Jeongnimsa Temple Site.
In addition, Buyeo-gun’s Cultural Heritage Division conducted a familiarization tour for foreigners from April 17 to 18.
On the first day, 23 foreign participants, including Mr. İsmail from Turkey, began with a scholar’s experiential activity at Buyeo Hyanggyo and participated in the wish-making circumambulation at the Five-story Stone Pagoda of Jeongnimsa Temple Site. Another team participated in the Gugudan Mokgan mission tour, where they collected five stamps at locations stretching from Baekgang Cultural Center to the National Museum, and had the special experience of receiving ‘Goodtrae Rice’.
The familiarization tour group for foreigners learned traditional Korean etiquette at Buyeo Hyanggyo, enjoyed the elegance of tea ceremonies, and participated in various programs including the opening ceremony, which itself drew the attention of visitors to the site and further enhanced the appeal of Buyeo cultural heritage night event.
On the second day, they explored Gungnamji Pond, Buyeo National Museum, Jeongnimsa Temple Site Museum, and Busosanseong Fortress in groups, discovering Baekje’s cultural heritage. They also conducted a mission tour for the best shots at Lotte Outlet and Baekje Cultural Land, capturing Buyeo’s scenery with their cameras.
Ms. Katerina from Belarus stated, “The experience of visiting Buyeo, the royal capital of Baekje, was very special, and I learned that Buyeo is a beautiful city embracing domestic’s cultural heritage. I will widely promote Buyeo to my family and friends.”
Participants shared photos and videos on social media, carrying out viral marketing to spread awareness across all of domestic through global media.
Buyeo-gun, which organized the familiarization tour for foreigners, stated that they planned the tour so that even domestic citizens could deeply feel the charm of Baekje culture through the cultural heritage night event where Buyeo mysteriously harmonizes. They expressed their remarks that this would be an opportunity for Buyeo to leap forward as a city of cultural heritage and tourism within domestic.
The ‘2026 Buyeo National Heritage cultural heritage night event’, which concluded successfully, gained added significance with its rich culture experiential activity set against the serene night of Baekje, attracting global attention through a familiarization tour for foreigners. We hope this cultural heritage night event will serve as an important stepping stone for Buyeo to firmly establish itself as a beloved treasury of cultural heritage and a tourism city for domestic citizens.
