Students from the Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies K-Beauty Department attended the ’64th Junohair Show’ held at aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on April 21st, directly experiencing the latest trends in the global beauty industry. This event, made possible by close cooperation with leading K-Beauty companies, was a valuable opportunity for students to experience vivid practical field experience beyond textbooks and develop their capabilities as future experts.

Junohair Show field experience Leading Global Hair Trends

The 64th Junohair Show was held through a special invitation from Junohair, with whom the HUFS Cyber K-Beauty Department has maintained a close cooperation relationship since its establishment. Held twice a year, the Junohair Show has established itself as an authoritative stage where emerging designers officially debut and present new hair trends. Approximately 5,000 Junohair designers, employees, and domestic and international beauty professionals gathered at the event, further intensifying the excitement.

145 junior stylists from Junoh Academy’s 64th class, who had undergone approximately 30 months of intensive artwork and promotion processes, took to the stage. They showcased diverse looks encompassing cuts, colors, perms, and styling, based on four unique concepts: ‘Dreamer Mode’, ‘Still Eye Bloom’, ‘Escape: Hair Odyssey’, and ‘Hip-Pop’. Students closely observed bold and structural hair designs reflecting the latest trends, experiencing the essence of beauty techniques.

The value of Vivid field experience Learning Shared by Students and Professors

Current students and graduates of the HUFS Cyber K-Beauty Department who participated in the Junohair Show event unanimously stated that this opportunity was highly beneficial for referencing trendy hair styling and directly observing various styling themes. They expressed positive feedback, calling it a valuable opportunity to develop the necessary senses and practical capabilities in field experience. By observing the actual practical course process, they were able to understand theoretical concepts three-dimensionally and gain deeper insights into the beauty field.

Professor Choi Seo-yeon, Head of the Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies K-Beauty Department, who led the event, expressed her delight, saying, ‘I am very happy to have watched Junohair’s hair show, which has a artwork cooperation with our university.’ Professor Choi added, ‘Observing the bold colors and structural cuts on stage, students must have experienced vivid trends beyond textbooks.’ She particularly hoped that ‘the stage of the junior designers, who trained for 30 months, would serve as a good stimulus for our students to gauge the standards and passion of practical field experience.’ As such, this field experience event served as an opportunity for students to not only acquire knowledge but also to cultivate their future professional passion and direction.

The Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies K-Beauty Department aims to cultivate global total beauty experts who lead the K-Culture era. To this end, the department prioritizes strengthening beauty practical capabilities by providing a systematic practical skills training course that supports participation in national and international beauty competitions, in addition to a solid theoretical artwork. In fact, since its establishment, the department has achieved results such as winning ministerial awards in prestigious domestic beauty skill competitions, including the ‘Republic of Korea CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Online Competition,’ proving the practical effects of its artwork.

Furthermore, the HUFS Cyber K-Beauty Department is actively continuing its cooperation with leading K-Beauty companies and institutions, including Junohair, the Korea Cosmetic Association, and the Korea Skin & Body Care Association, by signing business agreements, educational cooperation, and industry-academia commissioned education agreements. Through this close industry-academia cooperation, it supports not only the improvement of practical capabilities for incumbent professionals but also the acquisition of professional value and comprehensive beauty licenses for beauty field entrants, contributing to the development of the K-Beauty industry.
